CPA Delegation Attend Second Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development
On 11-12 December 2024, the Second Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development was held in Hong Kong. The conference, themed "Development of the Greater Bay Area in China to Provide Opportunities for the World", was co-organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the People's Government of Guangdong Province, Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), and Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR).
Among the 1,000-plus attendants from government agencies and business sectors from over 20 countries and regions was our firm China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA), represented by a delegation of ten-plus members led by general manager Mr. Wu Yuhe and deputy general manager Mr. Hu Gang. And general manager Mr. Wu was invited to the conference's breakout session on intellectual property (IP) rights, to share typical IP dispute cases our firm handled for corporate clients, and discuss effective strategies for companies to protect their IP rights in the Greater Bay Area.
Also, a new book titled "Chinese Innovation Entities Going Global: Strategies and Patent Costs", jointly authored by our firm and Beijing Guozhuan Intellectual Property Co., Ltd., was released at the conference.
The two-day conference focused on innovation-oriented, synergistic development and harmonisation of rules and mechanism in areas such as logistics, professional qualifications, capital, data flow and legal matters. Featuring a range of activities including a keynote session, thematic panels, project match-making, and city promotion event, with collaboration agreements signed between entities of mainland China, HKSAR and MSAR in the fields of industry and commerce, scientific research, and law, the event provided a platform for the governments and business sectors to jointly push forward the development of the Greater Bay Area.
