June 2017 The outcomes of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO)-commissioned research project concerning the cost and strategies of obtaining overseas patent protection for Chinese applicants were published. The research project, undertaken by CPA, mainly studied the cost that may be incurred in overseas patent applications for Chinese applicants as well as concessionary policies applicable to overseas patent applicants in various jurisdictions, and provided, on the basis of the research outcomes, economising means for the reference of patent applicants, thereby facilitating the "going global" of the Chinese innovation entities.
