On 13-17 October 2017, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) assistant general manager and Beijing Office director Mr. Kong Zhiqiang and Legal Affairs Department attorney Mr. Li Tao attended the 2017 AIPPI World Congress held in Sydney, Australia.
During the session, Mr. Kong and Mr. Li had extensive exchanges with industry professionals from around the world on issues such as protection of intellectual property in respective countries. Mr. Li also represented China Group of AIPPI to participate in the discussion and voting on the resolution on the 2017 study question of "quantification of monetary relief". This was the first time CPA had solely taken charge of a specialised research project of the AIPPI Study Committee at the invitation of AIPPI China.
AIPPI ("International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property") is a non-profit international organisation headquartered in Switzerland, which currently has over 9,000 members representing more than 100 countries and regions. Established in 1897, AIPPI is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year. By conducting studies of existing national laws and proposing measures in the form of resolutions and reports to achieve harmonisation of these laws on an international basis, the organisation contributes to improvement and promotion of the protection of IP on both an international and national basis.
