CPA Receives 2016 Top 10 Chinese Patent Agencies Award at Global IP Ecology Congress
On 26 November 2016, the Global Intellectual Property Ecology Congress hosted by IPRDaily was held in Beijing.
During the congress, the presentation ceremony for 2016 Top 10 Chinese Patent Agencies Award was performed. China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) was glad to be one of the awardees, excelling in particular as the top performer in terms of both the total number of patent applications and the number of foreign-related patent applications handled. The rankings were based on patent data provided by DI Inspiro system of Intellectual Property Publishing House and reviewed by an expert committee.
The congress focused on the theme of "intellectual property operation", surrounding which Ms. Lei Xiaoyun, director of Patent Affairs Administration Department under the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO), stressed in her speech the role of IP operation in accelerating industry innovation and driving supply-side structural reform; whereas another speaker Mr. Jean Baptiste Barbier, Intellectual Property Counselor of French Embassy in China, shared the status of IP operation in France with specific mention of the French sovereign patent fund. The congress attracted an attendance of about 600, including experts and academicians, industry practitioners, and in-house counsel from across the globe.
