CPA Rated as Top-Star Patent Firm in 2016 Patent Agency Industry Comprehensive Strength Evaluation

The results of 2016 Patent Agency Industry Comprehensive Strength Evaluation organised by China Intellectual Property News has recently been released.

China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) was lauded in this year's evaluation again as a top-notch (5-star) patent firm. CPA assistant general manager Mr. Kong Zhiqiang attended the results announcement ceremony held in Beijing on 16 January 2017 and received the award on behalf of our firm.

This year's evaluation identified 7 five-star, 31 four-star, 43 three-star, 45 two-star, and 48 one-star patent firms nationwide. The results of the evaluation were based on data analysis, social surveys and expert scoring, incorporating in particular close to 30,000 questionnaires responded by enterprises, peer firms, patent examination authorities, and IP administrative departments across the country.

Concurrently held with the results announcement ceremony was a forum on patent agency quality improvement. Officials from the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) along with judges, academicians, patent firms representatives, and in-house counsel gathered to discuss topics including development of patent agency industry under the evolving landscape, patent quality improvement in relation to patent examination, optimisation of IP talent cultivation, patent documents drafting in the light of patent infringement litigation, and patent agency work from enterprises' perspective.
