CPA Staff Completes 50KM Race in 1st Zhangye Qilian Mountain Trail Challenge
On 26 July 2014, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) Beijing office had a staff member Ms. Zhu Hongli participating in the 1st Zhangye Qilian Mountain Trail Challenge. She completed her 50km run in 10 hours 38 minutes, and grabbed a 32nd position in the women's race. There were altogether 500 plus runners joining the 100km, 50km men's, 50km women's and 10km races.
Zhangye is an important city along the ancient Silk Road in northwest of Gansu Province, China. The course of the race started at Danxia National Geological Park, an area named by National Geographic magazine as one of the world's top ten magical geographical wonders. The route of the race Ms. Zhu participated in encompassed twisty paths and steep slopes climbing a height of up to 3,000 meters, alternated with creeks averaging 20 meters wide, and finished at a vast expanse of meadow.
To Ms. Zhu and to other participants, the difficult course is certainly an unforgettable test of physical fitness and resilience with the temperature of the race day staying at 35 degree Celsius, while running one of the most beautiful cross-country courses in China is a joyful and satisfactory experience that more than complements the tough trial.
