CNIPA Issues Interim Measures for Handling Examination Matters Concerning the Implementation of the Revised Patent Law
To ensure the smooth implementation of the revised Patent Law on 1 June 2021 while the corresponding modification of the Implementing Regulations of the Patent Law is still in progress, China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has just issued, for the reference of the patent applicant, the patentee, and relevant parties, the Interim Measures for Handling Examination Matters Concerning the Implementation of the Revised Patent Law, which will also come into effect on 1 June 2021.
The interim measures contain 11 articles, and indicate, among others, that some of the examination matters concerning the implementation of the revised Patent Law will be on hold until the revised Implementing Regulations take effect, although relevant submissions can be accepted by the CNIPA starting 1 June 2021.
