CNIPA Launches EU Trademark Information Inquiry System
The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has recently launched the European Union Trademark Search System (EUTMS), making available the information of trademarks registered in the EU to the public for free browsing and downloads.
The system may be accessed directly (https://eutms.gippc.com.cn) or via the website of CNIPA (http://ggfw.cnipa.gov.cn:8010), and searches can be made using trademark name, application number or applicant name to retrieve such information as the basic information, international classification, and rights status of the trademarks searched.
EUTMS is the first official inquiry tool of international trademark information in China. The system was jointly developed by CNIPA and China (Guangdong) Intellectual Protection Center following an agreement signed on 25 September 2020 on the mutual exchange of trademark information between the CNIPA and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
