World IP Day 2021 Highlights SMEs' Critical Role in Economic Hard Times
Recently, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has confirmed the theme of the World IP Day for 2021 as: "IP & SMEs: Taking your ideas to market".
With post-pandemic economic recovery high on the agenda of various countries, World IP Day 2021 chose to focus on the critical role of SMEs in the economy and how they can use IP rights to build stronger, more competitive, and resilient businesses. World IP Day 2021 will also highlight the central role that WIPO and national and regional IP offices around the world play in creating favorable conditions for SMEs to drive innovation, power economic recovery, and create employment.
The World IP Day is observed around the globe with activities and events to promote the awareness of IP on every 26 April, a date coinciding with the date on which the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization entered into force in 1970.
