China Sets Up National Guidance Center on Handling of Overseas IPR Disputes
On 10 July 2019, the National Guidance Center on Handling of Overseas IPR Disputes was inaugurated by Mr. Gan Shaoning, deputy commissioner of China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), and Mr. Lu Pengqi, vice president of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
Established under the direction of Intellectual Property Protection Department of CNIPA, the center aims at guiding and serving Chinese enterprises in protecting their IP rights overseas, and helping them better understand and respect the IP systems and rules of foreign jurisdictions, by building a guidance and coordination mechanism as well as national-level information collection and distribution channels for the purpose.
After the inauguration ceremony, the preparatory meeting for the steering council of the center was conducted. The meeting was attended by representatives from China Intellectual Property Society, Intellectual Property Publishing House, China Intellectual Property News, All-China Patent Agents Association, Patent Protection Association of China, China Trademark Association, CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office, CCPIT IP Service Center, and China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd.
