China to Lower Some Official Trademark Fees Starting 1 July 2019
According to the Notice on Lowering Some Administrative Charges issued recently by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and Ministry of Finance (MOF), China Trademark Office will lower some of the official trademark fees with effect from 1 July 2019.
Specifically, the official fees for trademark renewal and for making changes will be lowered respectively from RMB1,000 to RMB500 and from RMB250 to RMB150.
In addition, with a view to further promoting trademark application via electronic means, the official fee schedule for online applications accepting electronic delivery of documents has also been adjusted. For these applications, the fee for making changes will be waived, and where applications of this kind are for trademark registration, reissuance of a trademark certificate, assignment of a registered trademark, trademark renewal, late trademark renewal, trademark review, issuance of certification of trademark registration, collective mark or certification mark registration, trademark opposition, trademark cancellation or recordal of a license contract, a reduction to 90% of the current fee schedule will apply.
