IP Offices of China, Japan & Korea Launch Co-developed Website "TRIPO"
The 15th Trilateral Policy Dialogue Meeting between SIPO, JPO, and KIPO was held in Guangzhou, China on 17 November 2015. Commissioner Shen Changyu of the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO), Commissioner Hitoshi Ito of Japan Patent Office (JPO), and Commissioner Choi Donggyou of Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) attended and addressed the meeting.
During the meeting, the three offices exchanged updates on the latest IP development of their respective countries and explored issues of common interest. Notably, they also announced the launch of a new version of their co-developed website TRIPO (www. tripo.org). This new version of TRIPO provides contents in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean in addition to the previous sole language of English. Information available on TRIPO includes documentation on comparative studies of examination criteria of respective offices, statistics on IP application and registration, as well as links to IP-related laws and regulations, IP searches, and e-filing of respective offices.
Over the past year the three offices have cooperated on various IP fronts, including the joint organisation of the patent examination experts meeting, patent reexamination experts meeting, automation experts meeting, design forums, and training institutions symposium, which have contributed to the economic, commercial, science and technology, and cultural exchanges among the three countries.
It has been decided that the 2016 trilateral meeting will be held in Japan.
