SIPO Launches Cloud Patent Examination System
The Cloud Patent Examination System (CPES) was launched by the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) on 22 May 2015 for the purposes of enhancing patent examination quality and efficiency by means of resources sharing.
CPES, available at https//www.cpes-sipo.net, facilitates sharing of patent examination information such as relevant documentation, bibliographic data, as well as disclosure and published literature of patent examination offices of various jurisdictions using cloud computing technology. The system also enables group discussion, instant communication, and other forms of exchanges functions.
Currently, the system allows access to the said resources of 16 offices, including SIPO, European Patent Office (EPO), Japan Patent Office (JPO), Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), IP Office of the UK (IPO), IP Australia, and German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA).
The system supports interfaces in nine languages including Chinese, English, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic, and provides a tool of translation for twelve languages, among them Chinese, English, Korean, and Japanese.
