Beijing IP Court Releases Debut Statistics on Cases Accepted & Concluded
Recently, Beijing Intellectual Property Court, which started operation on 6 November 2014, has released statistics on cases it accepted and concluded during the period from its date of inception until 20 March 2015.
During its initial four-odd months of operation, the court accepted 2,400 cases and concluded 587 cases. A breakdown on the number of cases accepted and concluded during the period is as follows:

For cases accepted by the court during the period, trademark cases accounted for the highest proportion of 71% among the first instances, whereas copyright cases accounted for the highest proportion of 76% among the second instances.
During the period an overall close rate of 24.5% was achieved by the court, with the percentage of first instances and second instances concluded being 16.8% and 70.5% respectively.
