PPH Pilot between SIPO and Israel Patent Office Takes Effect 1 August 2014
The State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) recently signed a Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot agreement with Israel Patent Office (ILPO). The PPH pilot programme will commence on 1 August 2014, and runs for an initial period of two years until 31 July 2016.
The programme allows an applicant to request for expedited examination of a patent application with one patent office under the pilot agreement, provided that he has filed a corresponding application at the other office under the same agreement and one or more of the claims therein are determined to be patentable.
