Trademark Statistics of China for 2013 Released
The Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry & Commerce of China recently released trademark related statistics in China for year 2013. According to the data, applications for trademark registration in China saw rapid growth over recent years, with the number of applications exceeding 1 million for four years on a row since 2010. In 2013, trademark applications hit a record high of 1,881,546, up 14.15% year-on-year.
As of the end of 2013, trademark applications and trademark registrations in China accumulated to 13,241,337 and 8,652,358 respectively, while registered trademarks in force reached 7,237,894. Statistics also showed that applications of trademark opposition in 2013 declined to 34,667 by 4.58% year-on-year.
