On 22-23 April 2021, AIPPI China Youth IP Seminar 2021, sponsored by the China chapter of AIPPI (the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property), was held in Huairou, Beijing. China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) Beijing Office director Ms. Li Yafei and Legal Affairs Department manager Mr. Wen Dapeng along with several CPA attorneys attended the seminar.

 

The seminar focused on hot topics in the areas of patent, trademark, and copyright, delivered in sub-forums conducted in English or Japanese, and our attorneys participated in the discussion as moderator or spokesperson. Among them, Trademark Department deputy manager Ms. Rachel Zhang moderated the trademark forum on legal issues concerning OEM (original equipment manufacturer); Legal Affairs Department attorney Mr. Li Xiao and Electronics & Electricity Department patent attorney Mr. Ma Butian made keynote speeches at the forum on the 4^th revision of the Patent Law and the forum on artificial intelligence (AI) respectively; and  Chemistry & Biotech Department patent attorney Mr. Gan Lin spoke at the forum on patent linkage and patent term extension system.

 

The seminar provided a platform for the young generation of IP attorneys and lawyers from across the country to discuss and delve into the heated IP issues, which is also an opportunity for them to develop their professional and communication skills and broaden their vision. The close to a hundred attendees of the seminar also included judges from the Supreme People's Court (SPC) and examiners from China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA).
