CPA Attends AIPPI Trilateral Meeting of Chinese, Japanese & Korean Group 2016
On 15-18 July 2016, the AIPPI Trilateral meeting of the Chinese, Japanese and Korean Group 2016 was held in Xining, capital of Qinghai province in northwest China.
During the occasion, AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) president Mr. Felipe Claro was present and delivered the opening speech. This year's trilateral meeting featured presentation by patent attorneys from China, Japan, and Korea surrounding three topics, namely, latest information on IP system in each country; abuse of rights and dominant positions allowed by a Standard Essential Patent (SEP); and requirements for protection of designs, which was the Design Question of 2016 AIPPI World Congress to be convened in Milan, Italy in September.
China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) deputy general manager Ms. Tina Tai and Chemistry Department deputy manager Mr. Guo Yu were invited to attend the meeting, and Ms. Tina Tai also acted as the guest moderator of the topical discussion session on standard essential patent.
AIPPI Trilateral Meeting is an annual meeting co-hosted by the Groups of AIPPI China, Japan and Korea, with each of the groups taking turn to organise the event in its respective country. This year's meeting was participated by over 100 industry practitioners from the three countries.
