Beijing IP Office Visits CPA HK

On 5 December 2014, Beijing Intellectual Property Office (BIPO)'s deputy director general Mr. Li Zhong along with its IP Coordination Division chief Mr. Du Zhong and Patent Administration Division deputy chief Mr. Dang Jianxin visited the Hong Kong office of China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA). They were staying in the territory for the 2-day Business of IP Asia Forum organised by HKSAR government, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and Hong Kong Design Centre.

At the meeting with CPA's management, the officials from BIPO were welcomed and given an introduction of CPA by our deputy general manager Mr. Wang Chongmin, and provided details on the firm's operations and recent development by assistant general managers Ms. Kathryn Fu and Mr. Wang Jingchao respectively.

After that Mr. Li Zhong gave a brief overview of BIPO and shared his view of the future of the industry. In particular, he cited the development of an IP objectives evaluation system for major national science and technology projects, an issue raised at the executive meetings of the State Council in November 2014, as an area that is worth paying attention to.
