CPA Participates in AIPPI China Youth IP Seminar
On 1-2 August 2014, AIPPI China (the Chinese national group of International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) conducted a youth intellectual property seminar in Huairou, Beijing. Topics discussed during the seminar included designs, utility models, software inventions, second medical use or indication claims, patent litigation, patent licensing, trademark, and copyright.
The seminar was participated by about a hundred IP practitioners nationwide representing major domestic IP firms. China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) also attended the seminar with a 10-member delegation led by assistant general manager Mr. Wang Jingchao.
Part of the discussions on the 2nd day of the session was chaired by our Shenzhen office director Mr. Yuan Shaohui. In addition, Mr. Li Jiang, our Beijing office Trademark Department manager, along with Ms. Zhang Lei and Ms. Li Huihui presented on topics concerning patent and trademark licensing, trademark protection, and supreme people's court cases related to Markush claims respectively. During the session, the CPA delegates also made extensive, in-depth exchanges with industry counterparts.
The seminar, planned to be an annual event, is AIPPI China's first ever youth seminar using English as the medium of communication. It aims at nuturing young professional talents and preparing them for future participation in international IP exchanges and programmes.
