CPA Attorney Invited to Give Lecture for National IP Training Program

On 5-7 July 2011, a capacity building program for IP practitioners and administrators from enterprises nationwide organized by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and Patent Protection Association of China (PPAC) was held in Yantai of Shangdong province.    

China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA)’s attorney Mr. Wu Yuhe was invited to give lecture for the program. Mr. Wu spoke on the theme of “Corporate Strategy for Handling IP Infringement Disputes”, and addressed the issue with in-depth case analysis from four aspects, namely, IP-related statistics and their implications, factors to consider in face of IP disputes and ways to cope with the disputes, determination of patent infringement, and drafting of patent documents in light of patent infringement litigation. 

The program also covered such topics as examination of patent-related civil disputes, IP protection in international trade, innovation-creation and IP protection strategies within enterprises. Apart from Mr. Wu of CPA, experts from different background speaking for the occasion included Judge Luo Xia from IP Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court, Professor Li Shunde from Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Tao Xinliang as Dean of IP Institute of Tongji University, and Mr. Yang Zhe as Director of Technology Development Department of Sinopec. The program gathered more than 140 corporate legal practitioners and IP executives as well as local IP officials.
