CPA Successfully Protects IP Rights for Swedish Patentee in Tianjin
Tianjin No. 2 Intermediate People's Court recently ruled in favour of a Swedish plaintiff represented by China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) in a civil case involving patent infringement by a domestic enterprise in Tianjin.
The Court ordered in the judgment that the defendant stop producing and selling the accused infringing goods, destroying the inventory of infringing goods along with the moulds for producing the infringing goods, and compensating the patentee for economic loss incurred by the infringement totaling RMB180,000 yuan.
In light of its being a typical patent infringement case, the lawsuit had its court trial held on 19 April 2011 chosen as an observation session in the presence of local judicial and legislative representatives, including Tianjin deputies to the National People's Congress, members of National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and judges from the municipality.
With no request for appeal from the plaintiff and defendant, the judgment issued by the Court has already taken effect.
