CPA Attends FICPI Open Forum
FICPI, the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys, held its 12th Open Forum during 8-11 September 2010 in Munich, Germany. CPA senior counsel Ms. Jenny Wang and manager of Chemical Department Mr. Li Liantao also attended the event.
This year's Forum was conducted on a combination of plenary and panel sessions. Topics discussed during the plenary sessions include: the role of expert witnesses, arbitration and mediation as alternatives to litigation, and latest practices of USPTO (US Patent and Trademark Office) and EPO (European Patent Office); whereas the panel sessions covered issues such as: determination of "same inventions", drafting of claims for favourable representation of inventions, case studies on patentability, design theft and anti-theft protection, equivalent infringement, European trademark system, effective client communication skills, and IP professionals training.
The Forum has attracted over 500 attendees from 60 countries and regions, with 26 of them from China.
