China & Denmark Sign MoU on IP Cooperation
The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DPTO) on cooperation in the field of intellectual property. The MoU, signed by CNIPA commissioner Mr. Shen Changyu and DPTO director general Mr. Sune Stampe Sørensen during a video conference, is the first-ever agreement of the kind on IP between the two institutions.
As noted by Mr. Shen, the MoU will serve as a basis of cooperation between the two sides for bringing about sustained communication of relevant laws and policies of respective jurisdictions, pushing forward the implementation of bilateral Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) programmes, and disseminating knowledge and best practice by way of exchange of experts and collaboration activities such as seminars and conferences, in the pursuit of more efficient and convenient IP services for the benefit of IP stakeholders of the two countries.
