China's Copyright Registrations Grow 20.37% in 2020

 
According to recently released information from the National Copyright Administration of China (NCAC), China's copyright registrations in 2020 saw a year-on-year increase of 20.37%, reaching 5,039,543.
 
Of the registrations for various types of works in total, which amounted to 3,316,255 during the year, photographic works ranked top in terms of number of registrations (1,510,914 pieces, 45.56% of the total for works registrations), which were followed by works of fine art (1,295,415 pieces, 39.06% of the total); literary works (212,797 pieces, 6.42% of the total); and audio-visual works (191,332 pieces, 5.77% of the total).
 
As for computer software, 1,722,904 pieces of software were registered in China in 2020, a growth of 16.06% year-on-year. By geographical analysis, the leading ten provinces/municipalities in terms of number of registrations were: Guangdong, Beijing, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Shandong, Sichuan, Henan, Fujian, and Tianjin, which altogether accounted for 71.8% of the total for software registrations of the year.
