SIPO Changes English Name to China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA)
According to a recent announcement by the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO), SIPO has adopted a new official English name, effective 28 August 2018, in the form of National Intellectual Property Administration, PRC or China National Intellectual Property Administration, officially acronymed as CNIPA (pronounced by spelling out the letters).
Earlier in March 2018, a restructuring has expanded SIPO's original functions and roles to include administering the trademarks as well as geographical indications of the country.
