The 11th China Patent Week Conducted Across the Country
The 11th China Patent Week (CPW) hosted by the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) was held between 27 November and 3 December 2017.
This edition of CPW focused on three main themes: i) strengthening IP creation with a focus on the generation of high-value IPs and encouraging enterprises to participate in or lead IP innovation collaborations with colleges and research institutes; ii) building a staunch IP protection environment, by active promotion of IP awareness and use of new media to mobilise the involvement of the patentee, professionals, and general public in IP protection, and by speeding up the set-up of IP protection centres to enhance IP examination quality and efficiency; and iii) invigorating IP exploitation by accelerating the building of IP operation platforms with sound operation management and IP trading rules to support appraisal, transfer, commercialisation, and pledges of IP, and by fostering the launches of IP operation funds.
This year's CPW again leveraged the website of China Enterprise Intellectual Property (www.cneip.org.cn) as its main (virtual) platform, which disseminated latest news on activities relating to the mentioned themes conducted by local IP administrative authorities in the form of policy publicity, exhibition, information release, project roadshows, investment matching, and experience sharing in venues across the country during the week.
