WIPO-Tongji University Joint Master's Programme in IP Law to Launch in September 2017
World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tongji University in Shanghai, China for the joint offer of a Master's Degree Program in Intellectual Property Law. Tongji University is WIPO's eighth university partner in the world, and the first in China, to offer similar postgraduate programme for international high-end IP talents development.
The programme is to be undertaken by a new international IP college under Tongji University due to open on 17 November 2016. According to the memorandum, WIPO will provide support on international recruitment, scholarship, books and materials, faculty, and internship, while Tongji University is in charge of student admission, course delivery in English, and theses instructions. Faculty members will comprise college teachers, judges, lawyers, and global IP experts.
The programme will start in September 2017, and an enrollment quota of 30 students from China and abroad is intended for the initial year.
