18th WIPO-SIPO Award for Chinese Outstanding Patent Invention & Industrial Design Presented in Beijing
On 26 December 2016, the Ceremony for the 18th WIPO-SIPO Award for Chinese Outstanding Patent Invention & Industrial Design ("the Award") took place in Beijing. The event was co-hosted by the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) and the World intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
SIPO Commissioner Shen Changyu and WIPO Deputy Director General Wang Bingying addressed the ceremony, and they, along with SIPO Deputy Commissioners He Hua and He Zhimin, presented the awards to the winners. The Award of this year comprised 20 patent gold awards and 5 design gold awards, as well as 568 patent excellence awards and 65 design excellence awards. Senior executives from Beijing institute of Spacecraft Systems Engineering (BISSE), ACRE Coking And Refractory Engineering Consulting Corporation, MCC, and Lenovo Group Ltd., as representatives of the gold award winners, spoke at the occasion.
The Award was launched in 1989, and the winning items were recognised as attaining top-notch technological innovation and intellectual property achievement in the country.
