SIPO Upgrades Electronic Patent Acceptance & Preliminary Examination System
The State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) has recently upgraded its electronic patent application system by optimising the existing procedures and manners of acceptance, preliminary examination, and prosecution for patent e-application. In particular, an online application platform has been newly incorporated, which allows the users to execute online editing and submission of patent application documents, to receive notifications, and to execute relevant procedures.
The new system is scheduled to start operation on 22 October 2016.
