17th WIPO-SIPO Patent Award Presentation Ceremony Held in Beijing
The Ceremony for the WIPO-SIPO Award for Chinese Outstanding Patented Invention and Industrial Design was held in Beijing on 15 December 2015. The event was co-hosted by the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) and the World intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
This year's WIPO-SIPO patent award comprised 20 China Patent Gold Awards, 5 China Design Gold Awards, 507 China Patent Excellence Awards, and 57 China Design Excellence Awards. In terms of economic benefits, the 25 gold-award winning patents have generated RMB149.3 billion in sales revenue, RMB33.4 billion in profit, and RMB10.4 billion in export revenue by the end of 2014.
The award was launched by SIPO in 1989, and is the only government award in the patent industry in China with recognition from WIPO.
