China Top 500 Enterprises 2015 Released
Recently, China Enterprise Confederation/China Enterprise Directors Association (CEC/CEDA) released the results of China Top 500 Enterprises 2015, which were ranked by revenue in 2014.
With a revenue of RMB2.88 trillion in 2014, Sinopec Group topped the list again, a position the company has occupied for the 11th consecutive years. According to the report, the top 500 Chinese enterprises on the list generated a combined revenue of RMB59.5 trillion in 2014, accounting for 93.8% of China's GDP for the year. Among them, 293, or 78.35%, were state-owned enterprises, whose revenue added up to RMB46.6 trillion.
In respect of intellectual property, it showed from 387 of the enterprises which provided data that they altogether claimed ownership of about 531,000 patents, among which 143,000 were patents for inventions. Midea Group was the one which owned most with 29,549 patents, and ZTE Corporation owned most invention patents of 15,000 in total.
The lists of China Top 500 Service Industry Enterprises and China Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprises were also announced on the same occasion. The enterprises of the two lists generated in 2014 a combined revenue of RMB25.2 trillion, a year-on-year growth of 7.2%, and RMB26.9 trillion, a year-on-year growth of 3.3% respectively.
Captured in the tables below are the leading ten enterprises on the lists of China's top 500 enterprises, top 500 service industry enterprises, and top 500 manufacturing enterprises respectively.
