SIPO Names New Commissioner

According to the Chinese government's official announcement, Prof Shen Changyu has been named the new Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) and Secretary of Party Committee of SIPO, taking the place of his predecessor Mr. Tian Lipu, who had served as the organisation's commissioner since June 2005.
Prof Shen Changyu graduated from Dalian University of Technology with a doctoral degree in computational mechanics in 1990. He was elected to the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009. His expertise is in plastic molding and mould optimisation design. Prior to the present appointment, he was president of Dalian University of Technology since August 2012 and president of Zhengzhou University from February 2003 to August 2012.
