Survey Reveals Industry Feedback on Patent Quality at Five Major Patent Offices
IAM magazine recently completed the Annual IP Executive Benchmarking Survey in conjunction with Thomson Reuters IP Solutions. The survey aims to shed light on the professional environment as seen by the IP professionals regarding key IP issues including patent examination quality, licensing, litigation and approaches to monetisation. The results of the survey on year 2010 were concluded from the feedback provided by about 700 in-house counsel and private practice practitioners, all of them being the magazine's readers.
The following table is compiled from some preliminarily released findings related in particular to what the respondents think about the quality of patents being issued by the world's five major patent offices, namely European Patent Office (EPO), Japan Patent Office (JPO), United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), and State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China (SIPO). Full details of the survey results will be published in July/August issue of the magazine.
