CPA Attends 8th Congress of China Intellectual Property Society
On 23 February 2023, the 8th congress of China Intellectual Property Society (CIPS) was held in Beijing. China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) commissioner Mr. Shen Changyu, CIPS board chairman Mr. Tian Lipu, and some chief officials of relevant authorities were present. The opening ceremony was officiated by CNIPA deputy commissioner Mr. Lu Pengqi.
China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) was represented at the event by our general manager Mr. Wu Yuhe, deputy general manager Mr. Wang Jingchao, assistant general manager Mr. Xiong Yanfeng, and Legal Affairs Department manager Mr. Wen Dapeng.
During the congress, apart from presentation of the work report by Mr. Tian Lipu on behalf of the 7th board and discussion of the agenda items, the 8th board of directors was generated. Mr. Shen Changyu was elected chairman of the new board, and CPA general manager Mr. Wu was voted vice chairman, among the 29 newly elected vice chairpersons who come from diverse backgrounds including government department, the court, scientific research institute, innovation entity, and IP agency. In addition, CPA deputy general manager Mr. Wang, assistant general manager Mr. Xiong, and Legal Affairs Department manager Mr. Wen were elected executive members of the new board.
Founded in 1985 and directly under the administration of the CNIPA, CIPS is a national academic, non-profit organisation composed of corporate, institutional and individual members. The congress of CIPS is held every four years.
