CPA Participates in 12th Business of IP Asia Forum
The 12th Business of IP Asia Forum, jointly organised by the HKSAR Government, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and Hong Kong Design Centre, was held in Hong Kong on 1-2 December 2022. China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) participated in the event with a delegation of ten-plus members led by general manager Mr. Wu Yuhe and deputy general manager Mr. Wang Jingchao.
The two-day forum, carrying the theme of "Creating New Value, Discovering New Frontiers", brought together global intellectual property (IP) experts and business leaders from more than 40 countries and regions to discuss the latest trends and opportunities in the Asian IP market. During the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by Mr. John Lee, chief executive of Hong Kong SAR; Ms. Margaret Fong, executive director of the HKTDC; Mr. Shen Changyu, commissioner at the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA); and Mr. Daren Tang, director general of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The forum featured a policy dialogue "Aspiration to Action: Co-creating a Resilient and Sustainable IP Ecosystem"; a global tech summit that focused on discussion of ways in which technology can propel reindustrialisation in Hong Kong; and an online workshop on IP commercialisation in ASEAN. There were also a number of breakout sessions, covering topics such as coordination of global efforts to build a sustainable IP ecosystem, how IP strategies can foster business expansion, and potential business opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.
During the session, CPA exhibited at the BIP Asia exhibition staged alongside the main forum, answering enquires from forum participants and exchanging views with industry peer. Taking the opportunity, deputy general manager Mr. Wang met Mr. Bai Guangqing, director general of Department of International Cooperation, CNIPA, and spoke to industry experts and leaders for exploration and insights into topical issues.
