CPA Professional Assigned to National Doctoral Service Group to Assist Development of Hainan International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone
Recently, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) professional Dr. Carissa Li was selected and assigned by the Chinese central government to the 21st batch of doctoral service group, to assist the development of the Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone in the capacity of deputy director of the medical technology division under the administration bureau of the pilot zone.

This batch of doctoral service group comprises 20 members, whose expertise covers medical care, finance, and other key areas essential to the building of the free trade port in Hainan province. Assigned to a four-member expert team, Dr. Li will be working with three domestic medical experts from Fu Wai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; Peking University Third Hospital; and Beijing Anzhen Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University respectively to support the development of a stellar cardiology specialty in the medical tourism zone.
During her two-year placement, Dr. Li will leverage her cross-disciplinary academic background and working experience in the fields of life sciences, law, and economics, attending particularly to the import of urgently needed medical equipment, initiation of transnational cooperation in the medical field, and handling of disputes over IP rights.
The Hainan medical tourism zone sits within the broader plans to transform Hainan into a high-level free trade port. On 1 June 2020, the Overall Plan for the Construction of Hainan Free Trade Port was issued by the Chinese government to accelerate the construction of the free trade port.
