CPA Nominated Outstanding Trademark Firm of the Year Again at 2017 China Trademark Festival

On 1-4 September 2017, the 2017 China Trademark Festival (CTF) hosted by China Trademark Association (CTA) took place in Guilin, China. China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) deputy general manager Mr. Luo Hong and Trademark Department manager Mr. Yin Longzhi along with two other CPA staff members attended the event.

The theme of the 2017 CTF was “To Protect Trademarks and Brands, and Share Innovation and Development”. The event gathered over 1,900 participants from home and abroad, including government officials, intellectual property (IP) experts, industry practitioners, as well as representatives from IP organizations and enterprises. The CTF featured a national trademark conference, a brand exposition, a China brand economy summit, and a number of parallel meetings. This year there were twenty-plus parallel meetings, among them the MARQUES forum, the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board (TRAB) trademark oral review demonstration, and other sub-forums on such topics as construction of trademark laws of countries along the Belt and Road, typical trademark cases review and analysis, innovation and development of time-honoured brands, overseas IP right protection for Chinese enterprises, and geographical indications.

During the session, CPA was again nominated an Excellent Trademark Firm of the Year. In addition, a patent invalidation case handled by CPA involving the mark "聖闘士星矢(meaning "Saint Seiya") SHENGDOUSHIXINGSHI (Chinese transliteration of "Saint Seiya") plus device" was selected as an Excellent Trademark Case of 2016-2017. And CPA, corporate member and deputy president of CTA, was represented by deputy general manager Mr. Luo and Trademark Department manager Mr. Yin at the 7th session of the 3rd council meeting of the association.
