CPA Delegation Attend 6th China IP Symposium in Hangzhou

On 30 March - 1 April 2017, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) attended the 6th China Intellectual Property Symposium hosted by All-China Patent Attorneys Association (ACPAA) in Hangzhou, China. Our delegation comprised deputy general manager Mr. Luo Hong, Shenzhen Office director Mr. Yuan Shaohui, Beijing Office Trademark Department deputy manager Ms. Rachel Zhang, Beijing Office Mechanics Department deputy manager Mr. Cheng Cheng, and Legal Affairs Department attorney Mr. Tang Chunlong.
The opening remarks were delivered by ACPAA chairman Mr. Yang Wu and Zhejiang province vice governor Mr. Cheng Yuechong. Mr. He Hua, deputy commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), also gave a speech, during which he talked about the accomplishment and development plans of IP protection as well as the prospects of IP service industries in China. The symposium featured presentations by 27 speakers on topics covering IP protection related to the Internet and standard patents, opportunities and challenges of the patent agency industry, judicial protection for patents, and trademark practice. Our attorney Mr. Tang Chunlong was one of the speakers, and his presentation focused on examination of software patent applications.
The event was attended by 220 plus IP experts and practitioners from more than 20 countries and regions including the US, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, and our delegates had in-depth exchanges with the industry counterparts during the occasion.
