CPA Attends Intellectual Property Owners Association 44th Annual Meeting

On 11-13 September 2016, the 44th annual meeting of Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) took place in New York of the US. China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) assistant general manager Mr. Kong Zhiqiang, CPA New York Office director Mr. Yu Yansheng, and Patent Application Department deputy manager at CPA Beijing Office Ms. Xi Wei were invited to attend the event.
During the occasion, US congressman Mr. Hakeem Jeffries and European Patent Office (EPO) director Mr. Benoit Battistelli were present and made keynote speeches. And speakers of the educational sessions at the meeting included examiners from the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and EPO, IP counsel from reputed corporations such as Intel, General Electric, Philips, DuPont, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, IBM, Google, Siemens, and Microsoft, as well as attorneys from major law firms. The speakers examined and discussed hot topics, recent court cases, and future developments relating to IP protection in the US and Europe in the areas of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret.
Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO), established in 1972, is a trade association for owners of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. The association holds regular meetings to study the latest development of IP protection and provides platforms for dialogues between IP owners and relevant parties.
