CPA Wins 2016 Deal of the Year Award from China Business Law Journal

China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) has been honoured with the 2016 Deal of the Year Award hosted by China Business Law Journal for its successful defence of the validity of a Chinese pharmaceutical patent owned by its Japanese client Daiichi Sankyo.

The winning deal is a patent administrative case in which our firm represented the client in an appeal before the Beijing Higher People’s Court against the Patent Reexamination Board (PRB)'s decision of invalidation of the disputed patent and subsequent ruling of the first-instance court. CPA attorneys' efforts contributed to the finding of the second-instance court that the disputed patent possessed inventiveness, and led to the revocation of the mentioned first-instance ruling and PRB invalidation decision.
