CPA Pays Business Visit to Patent Examination Cooperation Guangdong Center
On 28 January 2016, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) visited the Patent Examination Cooperation Center of the Patent Office of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), Guangdong ("the PECC") in Guangzhou, mainland China for business exchange. Representing our firm were assistant general manager Mr. Wang Jingchao and managers of the business departments at Hong Kong office.
Before the start of the official exchange, our colleagues were received by Mr. Zeng Zhihua, director of the PECC at a meeting, during which the common wish of closer and broader cooperation in future was expressed by both sides. The exchange that followed was chaired by Mr. Wang Qibei, deputy director of the PECC, and attended by representatives of the PECC including its deputy director Ms. Qiu Jiangwen, chief examiner Ms. Shen Lian, and Patent Affairs Department head Mr. Zhang Tianyong. Mr. Wang also briefed on the history, scale of operation, and principal activities of the center, while Ms. Qiu detailed on the examination policy and future directions of SIPO as well as the management and quality control aspects of the center.
For our side, assistant general manager Mr. Wang gave an updated profile including the scale and other operational status of our firm, whereas CPA managers of Electronics Department, Chemistry Department, and Mechanics Department communicated their feedback to the center on the quality of patent application examination work.
The business exchange enabled us to promote mutual understanding, which served to consolidate the basis for our further cooperation as well as contributed to the improvement of the quality of patent examination and patent agency work to the benefit of both sides of us.
