CPA Participates Actively in Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (ADNDRC) 2015 Conference
On 5 June 2015, the 2015 annual conference of Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (ADNDRC) was held in Beijing. The event was jointly hosted by ADNDRC and Online Dispute Resolution Center (ODRC) of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC). This year's conference gathered about 180 attendees including judges, scholars, attorneys, as well as representatives of internet and e-business enterprises from various Asian cities such as Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Kuala Lumpur.

The theme of this year's ADNDRC conference was "Online Dispute Resolution in the Internet-Plus Era". Dr. Yu Jianlong, vice chairman and secretary general of CIETAC, pointed out in his welcome speech that CIETAC had resolved about 1,000 generic top-level domain (gTLDs) cases and 2,000 country code top-level domain (ccTLD) cases since its launch of domain name dispute resolution service in 2000. According to him, the experience from domain name dispute was valuable and transferrable to online dispute resolution, which, as a relatively new alternative means of dispute resolution, was expected to contribute to the healthy development of the Internet.
CPA Trademark Department manager Mr. Li Jiang was invited to speak for the occasion. His presentation, titled "Some Thoughts on Domain Names and Domain Name Disputes in a Mobile Internet Era", delved into the importance of domain names, changes to internet portals, merits of consistency between domain names and trademarks, and issues to note concerning domain names and trademark protection for different enterprises.
The ADNDRC conference was held in various major cities in Asia on a yearly basis. It has become an important platform for in-depth discussion and exchange of innovative ideas in regard of issues related to the Internet and dispute resolution.
