CPA Attorney Invited to Speak on Chinese Enterprises IP Strategy Forum 2014
On 5 June 2014, the Forum for Chinese Enterprises on IP Strategy 2014, organised by Patent Protection Association of China, was held in Beijing, China.
The forum carried a theme of deepening the implementation of intellectual property (IP) strategy and promoting IP exploitation and protection. It was attended by more than 200 representatives from domestic judicial institutions, administrative agencies, enterprises and institutions, academic and research institutes, IP service providers, and social organisations.
During the fourm, guest speakers from the State Intellectual Property Office, China Trademark Association, and IP tribunal of the Supreme People's Court of China presented respectively on the implementation of IP strategy and patent-oriented pilot projects, certain issues concerning the revised Chinese Trademark Law, and China's judicial protection for IP rights in 2013.
Mr. Wu Yuhe, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA)'s Beijing office deputy director, was also invited to speak for the occasion. Mr. Wu's presentation focused on the manners and strategies of patent exploitation for enterprises. Capitalising on his extensive experience in the field assisted by reference to relevant cases, he looked into the risks that may be faced by enterprises in exploitation of patents and advised on the strategies for managing such risks.
Apart from our firm, some major Chinese enterprises including ZTE Corporation, Tencent Technology, BYD, and Beiqi Foton also spoke for the forum and shared their experience in relation to corporate IP operations and protection.
