CPA Patent Attorneys Earn 2013 Patent Examination and Patent Agency Symposium Outstanding Papers Award
China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) is glad to report that in the papers contribution for the 2013 Patent Examination and Patent Agency Symposium organised by All-China Patent Attorneys Association (ACPAA), the paper entitled "Drafting High Quality Invention Patent Applications" co-authored by CPA patent attorneys Ms. Yao Liying, Mr. Zhang Yu, Mr. Yuan Zhaohui, and Mr. Ji Changzhi was commended as an outstanding piece.
The outstanding papers award ceremony took place during the 2013 Patent Examination and Patent Agency Symposium held in Beijing on 26 November. The event was attended by 120 plus participants including officials from the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), legal practitioners and patent attorneys.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. He Hua, deputy director of SIPO, emphasised patent agents' obligation in ensuring the standard of patent application documents, as integral to the implementation of the nation's innovation economy strategy. Another guest speaker Mr. Lin Bonan, vice president of ACPAA, pointed out that this year's symposium, with a theme on "High Standard Patent Applications", was to raise awareness on the issue through research and exchanges among industry practitioners and urge them to prepare themselves for the more stringent requirement in practice.
This year's papers contribution received 229 submissions by IP participants from SIPO as well as patent agencies and enterprises nationwide. Among them 22 commended pieces were compiled and published.
