CPA Senior Attorneys Elected Executive Officer/Committee Chair of AIPPI China
On 22 December 2020, the sixth congress of the seventh council of the China Group of AIPPI ("International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property") was held in Beijing. At the congress, updates of the substantive work achieved by AIPPI China in 2020 were reported, and certain leadership positions of the association were re-elected and appointed.
Several of China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA)'s senior attorneys who are members of AIPPI China also attended the congress, and five of them were elected executive officer/committee chair of the association. Of them, CPA deputy general manager Mr. Wu Yuhe was elected vice president of AIPPI China and deputy general manager Mr. Yuan Shaohui elected executive member of the association. In addition, four colleagues were named chair of AIPPI China's professional committees, namely, Mr. Yuan Shaohui as chair of committee Q94 (The Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS)); Mr. Xiong Yanfeng as chair of committee Q224 (IP Enforcement); Mr. Ke Ke as chair of committee Q166 (IP and Genetic Resources/Traditional Knowledge); and Ms. Carrisa Li as chair of committee Q248 (Commercialisation of IP). During the congress, Mr. Wu delivered his inaugural speech as vice president after being elected.
AIPPI is a non-government IP advisory organisation, which is currently organised into 70 national and regional groups and has over 9,000 members, of which 400 plus were individual and group members from AIPPI China. AIPPI is dedicated to the development and improvement of intellectual property, and is playing an influential role within international IP community. CPA has been participating actively in various activities of AIPPI and its China Group, and will continue to work with the association and its China chapter in contributing to the cause of IP development in future.
