CPA Participates in 2024 Corporate International Operation Compliance and Risk Conference

On 21 June 2024, the 2024 Corporate International Operation Compliance and Risk Conference was held in Zhuhai city, Guangdong province of southeast China. The event focused on the themes of building a high-quality compliance system for corporate international operation and optimising legal business environment. China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) vice president Mr. Yu Jianlong, Guangdong Provincial Government deputy secretary-general Mr. Guo Yile, and Zhuhai Municipal Government deputy major Mr. Li Chong attended the event and delivered speeches.

The conference gathered 150 attendees, mainly corporate compliance professionals, and representatives from international organisations and some invited enterprises. Among the attendees were delegation of our firm, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA), led by general manager Mr. Wu Yuhe.

During the conference, compliance practice training and risk troubleshooting were provided to 200-plus companies, and concurrently to online participants from sub-venues in cities including Foshan, Zhongshan, Zhanjiang, Maoming, and Zhaoqing. Ms. Wang Danqing, director of our Shenzhen Office, was invited to talk about how IP service agencies can assist enterprises to go global. Drawing from nearly 40 years' experience of our firm in this aspect, Ms. Wang detailed on how to improve the quality of patents going global, optimise information and legal services, and provide all-round assistance to Chinese innovation entities in rights validation, rights protection, and IP compliance overseas. She also briefed on how IP firms may improve themselves toward a professional, international, high-end, full-chain, and one-stop IP service provider by means of strengthening their think tank capabilities and international cooperation network.

The conference also featured some special events, including the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between legal service agencies and the comprehensive service base for Chinese enterprises going global; a certification presentation ceremony for corporate compliance officers; and an unveiling ceremony for a corporate compliance research center in Zhuhai city. Our firm was one of the participating legal agencies of the mentioned cooperation scheme with the comprehensive service base for Chinese enterprises going global, and general manager Mr. Wu represented our firm to attend the ceremony and signed the agreement.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of CPA.
