China to Host AIPPI World Congress for the First Time this October

The 2024 AIPPI World Congress is going to take place in Hangzhou city of east China's Zhejiang province from 19 to 22 October. This is the first time China has been designated the venue of the world congress of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) since the establishment of the association 127 years ago.

At a recent press briefing, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) spokesperson Ms. Zhao Ping noted that the 2024 AIPPI World Congress is sponsored jointly by the CCPIT and the AIPPI, and organised by the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government along with the China National Group of AIPPI (AIPPI China). The theme of this year's congress is "Balanced Protection and Innovative Development of IP Rights". It is expected that the congress will bring together 1,500 attendants from about 80 countries and regions.

AIPPI is one of the earliest non-governmental international organisations in the field of intellectual property (IP). To date, its annual world congress has become one of the most influential international IP events, with the largest number of participants and widest range of participating countries and regions.
