CPA Attends 2024 LES International Annual Conference

China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) recently attended the 2024 LES International Annual Conference, which was held in Madrid, Spain during 28-30 April 2024. The delegation members of our firm included deputy general manager Mr. Hu Gang, Legal Affairs Department attorney Mr. Li Rongxin, and Trademark Department attorney Ms. Wu Di.

The theme of this year's LES annual conference was "Welcome to a New World", which focused on the new reality, constituted by an economy driven by data, the business model of tokenisation, a new internet architecture (web 3), rapid evolution of artificial intelligence, and emergence of decentralized management models, with the hope of empowering the technology transfer and licensing practitioners to embrace the opportunities to best help innovators and investors to succeed, by keeping abreast of this new reality and how these changes impact their professional activity.

The conference featured keynote speeches, roundtable discussions, industry panel session, and workshops, delving into a range of topics surrounding the theme, among them standard-essential patents, trade secrets and patents, licensing strategies for maintaining brand value, intellectual property licensing and enforcement, licensing litigation strategies, and latest case decisions affecting patent licensing, as well as exploring the best ways of exploiting and managing intellectual property assets in collaboration, investing in innovation, and transferring technology to the market.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of CPA. During the conference, our delegation had in-depth and extensive exchanges with industry peers from various parts of the world on the conference topics, and actively introduced to the participants of the conference the history, achievements, and professional capabilities of our firm.
