CCPIT Chairman Meets with CEO of International Trademark Association

On 28 March 2024, Mr. Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), met with International Trademark Association (INTA) CEO Mr. Edina Sanz Acedo and his delegation in Beijing.

At the meeting, CCPIT chairman Mr. Ren said that the Chinese government attaches great importance to intellectual property (IP) protection, and CCPIT, as the nation's largest trade and investment promotion agency, practices commercial legal services as one of its core businesses, providing both Chinese and foreign enterprises with one-stop solution including IP litigation and prosecution, arbitration, and mediation. Mr. Ren also expressed the hope of enhancing exchanges and cooperation between CCPIT and INTA in future.

INTA CEO Mr. Sanz de Acedo noted that CCPIT has great international influence and provides high-quality services and strong support for foreign companies investing and developing business in China. He looked forward to furthering communication and collaboration with CCPIT in commercial legal services, especially in the protection of overseas IP rights of Chinese companies.

The parties had in-depth discussion during the meeting on topics covering Chinese brands' going global and rights protection, strengthening exchanges and cooperation, and international trade facilitation. China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) general manager Mr. Wu Yuhe, and CPA deputy general manager Mr. Hu Gang, also board member of INTA, were present at the meeting.
